I would like to install front seat belts in my 59 Firesweep sedan. After receiving the belts, I tried to insert one of the belts preparatory to finding the attachment point on the floor and find that I cannot get the belt to the rear side of the seat. I came across a blockage of upholstery that is between the seat and the seat back.
Must I slit appropriate lengths on this upholstery to pass the belt(s) through? I'd rather not do this but I can see no other way to effect the installation.
Many thanks.

Stan: I am restoring a '61 Desoto and am having the seats reupholstered right now. I had not thought about this issue and will tell the upholstery guy to leave a slit for the seat belts to go through, front and back.
Where did you get your seat belts?

Mike, I got my belts from SEATBELTPROS.COM.
They have many colors, styles/types to choose from and their prices are quite competitive.
Good luck. Stan
