hi, i am new to the club. my name is chuck . i am a longtime mopar fan. around 50 years.
just bought another project to keep me fired up when i retire. it will join my 41 plymouth buisness coupe with a modified slant six and a a833 4 speed overdrive trans.
and my 65 dodge town panel with a big block mopar and custom 46rh od trans.
my new project is a car that i have always loved, and one just came available locally.
41 desoto s8 3 window buisness coupe local 1 owner car with 52,000 miles on it.
almost no rust except the rocker boxes, and new ones came with the car.
car runs and drives like new.
although i am a longtime hot rodder, i don't really know exactly what direction i am going with it. drive as is or to update driveline and electrical.
i like to run with the traffic (or
a little more)
i am really looking forward to working on it for the next few years

Welcome Chuck!
Your timing was just a little off as we just celebrated the 75th birthday of the S-8s in our July/August DeSoto Adventures magazine. That issue featured articles that were submitted by NDC S-8 members.
Usually, we send new members a copy of the current issue but if you don't get that particular issue, let me know and I'll get a copy on its way to you.
BTW, two of the articles featured almost identical business coupes but one of them had the very rare "Sportsman" package that was supposed to be only available in the club coupe.

I too welcome you to the club and the message board, and would like to see some photos of your '41 business coupe. I'm hoping that you'll keep it original, but the good news is that if you do decide to modify it, the NDC has a class for Modifieds and gives away several awards each year to the modified cars during our annual convention. Please keep us posted about your De Soto.

Geoff. No. I haven't received any copies yet. Would love to have a copy of that issue.
I seem to be having a hard time navigating this forum. But somehow I got to this message on the board. Also can't figure out how to add ictures yet.
Please see if I can get a copy of that issue.

Hi Bill.

Yes at this time it is all original. One owner 52000 miles. It is like driving a brand new 75 year old car. Got it running like a sewing machine and goes down the road great
It won't be getting modified at least for a year as I do like driving it as it's just that when I'm on the road. I like to run 75mph or so and like better braking and handling.
If it does getmodified, it will be staying all mopar. I have a 38e magnum and 7w7 that will probably be going in it. Will post pictures when I figure that out.

Make sure you're not using the "add the file" button.
