Hi sepleta and welcome to this forum. Hopefully Lee Exline will see your post and respond. Lee has Diplomats and knows more about them than probably anyone else in here. Diplomats were based on the American Plymouth not the De Soto. I think engine parts and body parts are Plymouth. Body style is definitely Plymouth. Les

Assuming it's powered by the same 6 cylinder engine used by Plymouth, parts are least in the US. The same basic engine was used well into the '60's in various industrial applications.

Nice looking car!

Welcome and you have a beautiful automobile. It appears to be what would be a 1955 Plymouth Savoy which is the middle model spaced between the top of the line Belvedere and the lowest priced and least fancy model called Plaza here in the USA. Although yours has a 6 cylinder engine, 1955 is the first Plymouth that offered a V8. US production DeSotos did not offer 6 cylinder engines in any of the standard models but DeSotos built for export or maybe even taxi service cars may have had sixes.

Good luck with your DeSoto and please keep us informed of any updates and needs.

sepleta, Andy Bernbaum,, has them. It looks like water pumps for Plymouth 6 cylinders was the same 1951-1956. He has the pump or rebuild kits if yours can be rebuilt.
