Here are some photos of Pat Bisson's 1949 Desoto Custom Coupe. Personally, I have a special fondness for the 1949 model as I drove one for transportation while going to school in the early 1970's. Here is a front quarter view of Pat's car. Notice the enameled DeSoto crest. later cars used a Plastic "Jewel" crest. Nice car!

Here is a rear quarter view of Pat's '49. Note the stop lights on the trunk.

Here is a shot of the dashboard in Pat's '49. This was taken at the Ann Arbor "Rolling Sculpture" show back in July. I love this dash. The back lighting has purple filters on it, and the alpha-numerics on all the instruments are painted in radioactive paint. The purple lighting is invisible to the driver, but it makes the numbers glow a bright green.

Here is an engine compartment shot of Pat's 49, also from the Rolling Sculpture show. Notice how the heater in these cars took fresh air from beside and in front of the radiator and passed it through the engine compartment into the car. This style heater was only used from 1949 through 1952. Nice Car Pat!
