Well, this is a first. (At least as far as I can remember.) The deadline has past for NDC members to self-nominate for trustee, and I did not receive a single nomination. Not sure what this means. I would think that if you're a member who is not pleased with how things are going, then this would be your chance to get in there and change things. Regardless, if you are an NDC member and would like to nominate yourself for one of the three open trustee positions, please let me know. My e-mail is nobledesoto@ameritech.net. Thanks.

The trustees take care of the club's business - things like updating and voting in new bylaws, determining how much insurance we should have, who do we have our insurance with, who are magazine printer is, voting on the Hernando De Soto Award and Special Achievement Award winners, determining where the next convention will be, etc. We do most of our work via board packets sent by e-mail on at least a monthy basis. Additionally, there is the annual trustees' meeting during our conventions. (You don't have to be present at each convention - just let the other trustees know who has your proxy.) Each trustee usually has either one of the officer positions and/or one or more of the coordinator positions. For example, I'm the secretary as well as the coordinator for elections, conventions, and Special Achievement Awards.
