I have done business with Northwest Transmissions and they are great. I called them with a question about my fluid drive and John explained exactly how the transmission worked and what I could do to fix it. As a result of that call I ended up building a mold for them and getting parts molded for a seal for Powerglide's. Great people to deal with.

I passed along your original post to NDC club member Hennie Jacobs. Hennie owns a transmission shop in Greenville, SC and has much expertise on the older Chrysler products transmissions. He has been very helpful to me on my 1955 Powerflite transmission. He wanted me to pass along his response to your post:

Mr. \Meulman, My Name is Hendrik Jacobs (Hennie nickname). I can help you in 2 ways. You can send the transmission to me and I will repair it. I have a Transmission shop here in Greenville, South Carolina. USA. If you are mechanicly minded I can help you by phone. If you remove the transmission I can tell you what to do, via fax or e-mail for diagrams so call me by phone No. 864-246-6870 Mondays through Fridays, so we can talk. Dextron 11 is fine. Thank you all, I really appreciate your help. This summer we want to keep on driving the Desoto but during the cold months we will restore the transmission. I will keep this topic in mind.
