Born in 1930, to Myron and Erma Mackey in Indianapolis, Indiana, she was a 1948 graduate of Miamisburg High School and married the love of her life, Robert A. Fox, the same year. A dedicated wife and mother, she and Bob were associated with autos through Fox Motors of Miamisburg and as early members of the DeSoto Car Club. In later years, she and Bob worked with the circulation department of The Miamisburg News. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Sherry Shumway and Robin Kimberlin, and an infant son Larry Eugene. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Robert A. Fox; three grandchildren, Kevin and Nick Shumway and Marlena Kimberlin; a sister, Louise Mackey; and several nieces and nephews. In accordance with Mary Ellen’s wishes, there will be no services and her body has been donated to the Wright State University School of Medicine for research.
