After becoming involved with a project to restore a 1963 Studebaker Gran Turisimo Hawk, as I was searching for numerous vehicle specific "trinkets', I came across the Studebaker Club's vehicle registry. It was obvious that this was initially created long before our current computer-generated spreadsheets and had to be a huge undertaking at the onset. It did allow me to contact a couple of local GT Hawk owners to pick their brains and see some remarkably original Stude's.
I believe that this would be a doable undertaking and would help our membership become acquainted with the De Sotophiles in their area.
How best to get this project started? Would our Model/Year Tech Advisers be willing to gather the info or would one of our members volunteer to get the ball rolling?
Just "Askin'"!

Geoff,

Don't we sort of have most of this information already in the hands of whoever - Barrett Taft? - prepares the roster issue?

Just sayin'...

What a great idea!!

So far I have two---a 1942 Custom Club Coupe, which we are just beginning to restore. It needs everything.

A 1946 Custom 4-dr sedan in very nice condition, which is currently on its way to Southern California from Orlando, Florida. And another 1946 Custom sedan parts car.

I'll attach photos of the '42 and the nice '46.

I already maintain a huge database of 1957 DeSotos, with as much information as can be gathered on each. For example, I try to obtain the VIN, motor number, owner contact info, model, condition, sometimes color, etc. The problem is that not everyone shares all that information, and not everyone wants the information shared, so I keep it pretty much to myself as '57 tech advisor. It has helped MANY times, but I do not share any more than folks want me to.
